0015 English edition: AI translation, the Korean edition is authoritative
The Korean version is authoritative. This page was translated by AI (Claude) and has not yet been checked by a person. 한국어 원문
- The public site (Decision 0013) has an English edition (
/en/). The “한국어 | English” button in the top bar switches between the two editions of the same page. - The Korean edition is authoritative. The English edition is translated by AI (Claude), and every page says: “The Korean version is authoritative. This page was translated by AI and has not yet been checked by a person.” (Principle 6, showing how much AI contributed.)
- The English edition is translated from the filtered Korean public edition, not from the internal source documents. The forbidden-word check also runs on the English edition.
- Each English page records the fingerprint of the Korean page it was translated from (
source_sha). When the Korean page changes, the English page automatically shows: “The Korean original has changed since this translation. Read the Korean page for the current text.” - Terms follow the translation glossary.
- The look follows the Claude Code documentation site, and the colors come from arkive (the head of Nodeone, 2026-10-12). Instead of Anthropic’s proprietary fonts, the site carries Pretendard and Noto Serif KR inside it.
- The English edition has readers: overseas holding institutions, the international standards community, and overseas partners (the head of Nodeone, 2026-10-12).
- Human translation is slow, and publishing without a label would go against Principle 6. Labeling it and making clear which edition is authoritative is the honest way (chosen by the head of Nodeone).
Other options
Section titled “Other options”| Option | Why not chosen |
|---|---|
| English edition without a label | It goes against Principle 6 (showing AI contribution) |
| Only pages checked by a person in English | Accurate but slow. Pages can switch their label once they are checked |
| Make the English edition a second authoritative text | With two authoritative texts, the meaning would split |
Where it has effect
Section titled “Where it has effect”- hgp: When a Korean document changes, its English page is marked as an older translation. After re-translating,
